Ingredients
  • 2 tbs Oil
  • 1 Large onion (chopped)
  • 3 Sticks celery (chopped)
  • 100 gr Button mushrooms (sliced)
  • 600 ml Chicken stock
  • 1 can Bamboo shoots (cut into strips)
  • 270 gr Canned bean sprouts (drained)
  • 2 tbs Cornflour
  • 2 tbs Soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • 350 gr Cooked shredded chicken
Instructions
  1. Heat the oil and fry the onions and celery until they start to soften
  2. Add the mushrooms and chicken stock to the pan
  3. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes
  4. Add the bamboo shoots and bean sprouts to the pan
  5. Mix the cornflour with the soy sauce and stir in 2 tbs of hot stock
  6. Returning to the pan, season with salt and pepper
  7. Stir continually while bringing back to the boil
  8. Add the chicken pieces and simmer for 3 minutes
  9. Serve with Chinese noodles
 

Chicken Chow Mein

  • Add the bamboo shoots and bean sprouts to the pan
  • Mix the cornflour with the soy sauce and stir in 2 tbs of hot stock
  • Returning to the pan, season with salt and pepper
  • Stir continually while bringing back to the boil
  • Add the chicken pieces and simmer for 3 minutes
  • Serve with Chinese noodles
