This dish on toast is just as good as a starter or for breakfast.
Ingredients
  • 500 g Button Mushrooms (Thickly Sliced)
  • 15 ml Lemon Juice
  • 30 ml Butter
  • 125 ml Sherry
  • 25 ml Cake Flour
  • 150 ml Fresh Cream
  • Salt/Freshly Ground Black Pepper
Instructions
  1. Bring the mushrooms, lemon juice, butter and fortified wine to the boil
  2. Simmer till the mushrooms are tender
  3. Mix the flour and cream together to form a paste
  4. Stir the paste into the mushroom mixture
  5. Heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens and is cooked
  6. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately
