Spicy Mince Triangles

A great snack or finger food
Ingredients
- 30 ml Olive Oil
- 1 Onion
- 500 g Beef Mince
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 5 ml Ground Cumin
- 5 ml Ground Coriander
- 5 ml Chilli Powder
- 50 ml Spicy Chutney
- 50 ml Fresh Mint
- 50 ml Fresh Coriander
- 1 Egg
- 300g Phyllo Pastry
- 100 g Melted Butter
Instructions
Filling
- Peel and finely chop the onion
- Heat the oil and add the onion and fry for 5 min
- Add the mince and brown, breaking up the lumps with a wooden spoon
- crush the garlic
- Add garlic and dried spices to the pan and fry for 5 min
- Remove from the heat and season to taste
- Chop the fresh mint and coriander
- Add the fresh herbs, chutney and egg and mix well
- Cool completely
Pastry
- Lay phyllo pastry on work surface and cover with a damp cloth
- Working with 1 sheet at a time cut each strip into 4 pieces
- Brush each piece with melted butter
- Put a spoonful of filling at the base of each strip and fold diagonally to form a triangle enclosing the filling
- Continue folding till you reach the end of the strip
- Repeat with the remaining pastry
- Brush the outside of each triangle with melted butter
- Place on a baking tray
Bake
- Preheat oven to 180 C
- Bake for 15-20 min until golden brown
- Remove and cool slightly
- Serve with sweet chilli sauce
