A great snack or finger food
Ingredients
  • 30 ml Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion
  • 500 g Beef Mince
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 5 ml Ground Cumin
  • 5 ml Ground Coriander
  • 5 ml Chilli Powder
  • 50 ml Spicy Chutney
  • 50 ml Fresh Mint
  • 50 ml Fresh Coriander
  • 1 Egg
  • 300g Phyllo Pastry
  • 100 g Melted Butter
Instructions
Filling
  1. Peel and finely chop the onion
  2. Heat the oil and add the onion and fry for 5 min
  3. Add the mince and brown, breaking up the lumps with a wooden spoon
  4. crush the garlic
  5. Add garlic and dried spices to the pan and fry for 5 min
  6. Remove from the heat and season to taste
  7. Chop the fresh mint and coriander
  8. Add the fresh herbs, chutney and egg and mix well
  9. Cool completely
Pastry
  1. Lay phyllo pastry on work surface and cover with a damp cloth
  2. Working with 1 sheet at a time cut each strip into 4 pieces
  3. Brush each piece with melted butter
  4. Put a spoonful of filling at the base of each strip and fold diagonally to form a triangle enclosing the filling
  5. Continue folding till you reach the end of the strip
  6. Repeat with the remaining pastry
  7. Brush the outside of each triangle with melted butter
  8. Place on a baking tray
Bake
  1. Preheat oven to 180 C
  2. Bake for 15-20 min until golden brown
  3. Remove and cool slightly
  4. Serve with sweet chilli sauce
