Ingredients
  • 2 lbs Rump or Fillet
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped onion
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 lb button mushrooms, sliced
  • Salt, Nutmeg & Mace
  • 1/2 pnt sour cream
Instructions
  1. Cut steak across grain into slices. 1/2″ thick.
  2. Season with pepper and flatten each slice with a wooden mallet.
  3. Sauté onion in half butter until it just begins to soften.
  4. Add sliced beef and sauté for about 5 mins, turning to brown.
  5. Remove from pan and keep warm.
  6. Add remaining butter to pan and sauté mushrooms.
  7. Return beef to pan.
  8. Season to taste with salt, nutmeg & mace.
  9. Add sour cream and heat through..
