Ingredients
- 2 lbs Rump or Fillet
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 Tbsp finely chopped onion
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 1/2 lb button mushrooms, sliced
- Salt, Nutmeg & Mace
- 1/2 pnt sour cream
Instructions
- Cut steak across grain into slices. 1/2″ thick.
- Season with pepper and flatten each slice with a wooden mallet.
- Sauté onion in half butter until it just begins to soften.
- Add sliced beef and sauté for about 5 mins, turning to brown.
- Remove from pan and keep warm.
- Add remaining butter to pan and sauté mushrooms.
- Return beef to pan.
- Season to taste with salt, nutmeg & mace.
- Add sour cream and heat through..
