Bruces White Bread

My brother swears by this recipe and claims if you follow it, it is flop proof.
Ingredients
- 3 Cups White Bread Flour
- 3/4 Cup Warm Water
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 7 g Yeast
- 2 tbs Oil
- 1 tbs Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Mix water and sugar and stir till sugar is disolved
- Add flour, oil and yeast
- Mix together
- Add salt and mix in
- Turn out and knead for 10 min
- Coat dough in oil and place in large bowl
Proof
- Wrap bowl in a blanket and leave to rise for 2 hours until double in size
- Remove from bowl and knock the dough back
Fold
- Roll out into a rectangle
- Fold sides of dough into the middle and pinch together
- Fold ends in
- Place folded side down in a greased loaf tin
- Cover with a cloth and leave to rest for 30 min
Bake
- Preheat oven to 180 C
- Make 3 slices with a sharp knife across top of the bread
- Brush top with water
- Bake for 45 min
- Brush top with water 3 times during the baking process
- Remove and leave to cool in a wire rack
- (For a soft crust wrap the loaf as it cools, for a crisp crust leave uncovered to cool)
