Easy Pita Bread

Easy dough for making pitta bread. Can be filled with a different fillings for lunches or a light supper.
Ingredients
- 750g Cake Flour
- 2 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 10g Instant Dried Yeast
- 4 tbs Oil
- 600ml Warm Water
- Cake Flour for Dusting
Instructions
Dough
- In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, salt, yeast and sugar
- In a separate bowl mix the oil with water
- Pour slowly into the dry ingredients, mixing to make a dough
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for 5 – 10 min
- Cover and allow to rise in a warm place for about 45 min until double in size
Preparation
- Knock back the dough
- Divide into 12 equal pieces
- Roll each out on a lightly floured surface till you have 5mm thick rounds
- Dust lightly with flour
- Cover with a lightly floured cloth and leave to rise for 20 min
Baking
- Preheat oven to 250° C
- Place baking trays in the oven to heat up for 5 min
- Carefully place risen rounds of dough on the trays and bake for 5-6 min until puffed up but still pale
